Ballbank is a digital inclinometer meticulously designed for determining advisory speeds on horizontal roadway curves. This tool assesses the combined effect of superelevation, vehicle roll, and lateral acceleration in degrees. Widely recognized as one of the standard approaches employed by engineers globally, the ball bank indicator method effectively evaluates driver discomfort, aiding in the establishment of appropriate advisory speeds.

With Ballbank, gone are the days of requiring a second individual to jot down observations. This user-friendly inclinometer allows you to simply mount your phone on the dashboard to initiate data collection. Upon starting your drive, Ballbank captures all pertinent information and conveniently saves it as a video in your Photos app. Additionally, the raw data containing detailed curve results is stored in a text file that can be easily exported and shared via email.

Going beyond basic angle readings and speeds, Ballbank provides insights such as maximum smooth angle, average speed, and lateral g-force for each curve. Moreover, it logs essential information like linear distance, latitude/longitude coordinates, altitude, date, and time. The integrated map feature further enhances data visualization by clearly displaying the precise locations where data was obtained.

By recording drive videos, Ballbank enables users to retrospectively evaluate driver performance on curves, document existing signage, evaluate site safety aspects, and assess pavement conditions that could influence testing outcomes. Furthermore, the tool offers flexibility with support for both Imperial and Metric units.
